Is your root canal making you sick? As strange as it may sound, it turns out that “simple” dental procedure may not be so safe after all. Root canal-treated teeth can end up harboring all kinds of harmful pathogens, which in turn harm the health of your entire body. While the mainstream dental industry is loathe to admit this shocking truth, the fact is that root canals are risky procedures that can endanger your health. A recent documentary investigating the link between root canals and health problems, Root Cause, has even been banned by Netflix — probably for revealing too much truth about the dark side of dentistry.
The human body is a singular organism made up of many different parts — and if one part is sick (even a tooth!), the rest of the system gets put in jeopardy. Much of modern medicine seems to have forgotten that last bit, which is why so many people are now considering holistic dentistry instead.
The Netflix documentary interviewed many esteemed health professionals, including doctors and dentists, who believe that root canals can cause health problems. For one, many health professionals say that root canals always harbor some kind of infection. Past reports have indicated that it is virtually impossible to remove all of the bacteria from a root canal-treated tooth. After the procedure is complete, experts say these pathogenic bacteria can continue to thrive. Sometimes, these low-level infections go undetected for years.
During the root canal process, all of the nerve tissue is removed from the tooth — which means you can no longer sense pain in that tooth, leaving infection to run amok.
Dr. Thomas Rau, medical director of the Paracelsus Academy in Switzerland, says that root canals are always infected to some degree “without exception.” Cardiologist Dr. Thomas Levy concurs with this assertion and states, “The science shows that root canals are always infected. The only differentiation is some are a little more toxic and infected than other ones.”
These chronically infected teeth then pave the way to disease in other areas of the body. As the film reportedly explains, the fundamental problem with root canals is simple: The tooth has died, yet it remains in the body. You wouldn’t keep a gangrenous toe on your foot because the infection could spread. And according to Rau, the teeth are closely connected to other bodily systems, including the lymph system. Research has also linked oral health to cardiovascular health.
According to Dr. Levy, root canal-treated teeth are likely one of the top unrecognized causes of heart disease. And as sources note, scientists have determined that untreated tooth infections do actually increase your risk of heart disease. How many people with heart disease are walking around with infected root canals? Who knows.
Dr. Rau believes that root canals can even be a source of cancer. When some early research began linking root canals to cancer, Rau reportedly conducted his own analysis of cancer patients treated at his clinic. He surveyed 150 female patients with breast cancer — and found that 97 percent of them had at least one root canal. Shockingly, the cancer was almost always on the same side of the body as the root canal. Other health practitioners have reported similar findings.
While the mainstream media and conventional dentist industry are bent on censoring any information that contradicts the chosen narrative, the overwhelming consensus from holistic health practitioners seems to be that root canals are not all they’re cracked up to be.
